Burton On Trent
Sundays final turned into a really good match, twenty four hours earlier it looked in danger of being called off as the river rose alarmingly, as the final started it was still carrying plenty but the colour was dropping out. Dave Petch drawn on sherrats farm peg 26 a good area of late made no mistakes fishing a fine match starting with maggots on the pole and stick float he caught roach and dace steadily  for the first 3 hours putting around 10lb in the net before surprisingly switching to hemp to finish with better fish for 19lb 2oz and his first win at the venue and picking up a nice cheque for £500 and an Acolyte float rod. Unbelievably  the next 4 anglers shared the same weight 14lb 4oz all roach and dace weights on various methods.   Champion £500.
